Personal project

My sister and her fiancé asked me to create a personal wedding invitation, hoping for something truly unique to their relationship.

The invitation includes various elements of a very personal nature to the couple, including the bar they met in, the tree they got engaged under, the turf the groom grew up cutting. The design was created with ample detail in order for it to be printed to a larger scale and framed.

The colour palette, fonts and illustration style were chosen with the goal of creating something elegant, but playful. A big challenge with this project was limiting the palette to just 3 main colours (and white) while attempting to introduce depth and realism. I managed this by adding shadows and shine, as well as negative spacing for some elements (such as the pint and glass of Guinness).
